Dr. Taylor Dowell’s love of animals started early and shaped her whole path. She earned her undergraduate degree in wildlife biology from the University of Montana, then went on to veterinary school at Washington State University. While she was in school she worked at a Peruvian restaurant, and that’s where she met her husband.
At home, Dr. Dowell’s family is full of four-legged love. They have a senior mixed-breed dog and a spirited two-year-old Dalmatian they rescued as a puppy while she was fighting parvo. Three cats round out the household. Caring for her own pets at every stage of life, from a fragile puppy to a beloved senior, has given her a deep appreciation for the bond families share with their animals.
Outside of work, Dr. Dowell loves trying new foods and traveling with friends and family.
At Heartstrings Pet Hospice, she brings that same heart to every family, helping pets stay comfortable and supporting their people with compassion through life’s most tender moments.
